While still enrolled in school, Beroro Efekoro served in the New York State Assembly (January - June 2014) as a Legislative Intern in the office of Hon. Walter T. Mosley. This gave him a tremendous deal of experience, working with members of the state legislature. He was later recalled to serve in the State Assembly in mid 2015, where he worked as a Legislative Assistant in the office of the Majority Leader Joe Morelle. 

 

Upon his graduation from SUNY Albany in 2015, Beroro was appointed by Hon. Carolyn McLaughlin as Committee-person representing electoral district 11-7 in the Albany County Democratic Party. This appointment was a result of his commitiment and dedication to serving the Albany community through volunteerism. Effective as of February 1, 2016 by a resolution of the Albany Common Council, Beroro Efekoro currently serves as a temporary member of the City of Albany Assessment Review Board.

Beroro Efekoro is the Chief Executive Officer and President of the International Organization for Global Education, Inc., an organization establised with the objective of promoting youth education and providing humanitarian services to children, youths and families within the United States and abroad.
 
Born in Delta State, Nigeria on December 21, 1990, Efekoro together with his sibblings  left Nigeria in the fall of 2008 to join their father Hon. Bethel Efekoro, a former honorary member of President Barack Obama's Kitchen Cabinet (Advisor) in the United States. Beroro came into the United States at the age of 17 as a high school junior, and upon his arrival, continued his education from 11th grade at Boys and Girls High School, Brooklyn, New York, where he quickly became the Senior Class President in 2009.
 
 
EDUCATION AND LEADERSHIP
 
Beroro Efekoro is an elected member of the Albany County Legislature, New York. Efekoro became the first Nigerian elected to public office in New York and and the first African boen person elected to the Albany County Legislature in November 2019. He also serves as a Member of the Board of Advisors for the Rockefeller Institute of Government on Immigrant Integration, Research and Policy. 
 
Beroro graduated from the University at Albany in May, 2015 with a Bachelors degree in Political Science. Before his graduation, he served as Chiarman of the University at Albany Student Association Senate Committee for Community Engagement and Outreach. A successful appointment to the position was due to his involvements in the local Albany community; helping to mentor and tutor Albany's Public School children, providing after-school activities and organizing education workshops for youths. Beroro also served as an elected delegate to the SUNY Student Assembly from 2014 to 2015.
